The Transforming Stories International Christian Film Festival (TSICFF) has a vision to transform cultures through storytelling. This year 181 films were submitted from 19 countries representing 5 continents of the world, making Transforming Stories a truly global film festival. The submitted films were categorized into the following categories: Feature Films, Documentary Films, Short Films, Short-Short Films and Music Videos.

It is a great honour to announce the following winning films in the respected categories for the Transforming Stories International Christian Film Festival 2011:

"The Producers of Billy: The Early Years are quite honored to receive this award.
As a team, we spent several years researching and then producing the film on the life of Billy Graham and his family, with particular focus on his life partner, Ruth Bell Graham. We worked very hard to make a film worthy of their story. We hope that the film impacts your audience, the way we were impacted by the life and work of one of Christendom's great men of faith, Billy Graham.

We genuinely wish we could be with you in person and have the opportunity of meeting you all, face to face, and to share in person our film. Continued blessings on your work, and again, thank you for this award.
The producers of Billy the Early Years"

"It is an honour to accept Best Documentary Award at TSICFF. I'd like to thank those who allowed us to tell their stories: Dr Tertius and Trudi Venter, Ambroise, Fadila and Hyacinthe. Thanks to Mercy Ships for allowing access to their hospital ship, the crew as well as our funders the NFVF, the GFC and Miradasdoc. And thanks to Jesus Christ for His provision and inspiration." - Ryley Grunenwald

"Dear Jury Members, Fellow Filmmakers & Film Enthusiasts attending the 2011 Transforming Stories Film Festival:
We are very honored that MY LAST DAY WITHOUT YOU was included in the festival this year along with some many other inspiring films. We are of course also grateful and humbled for being selected to receive the Jonahre Award.
From its inception, our film has been an exploration of faith, doubt, questions of destiny, and the daily struggle to walk the walk. Given this, we are deeply moved that our film was recognized for, as the Jonahre mission statement reads – “bringing truth to reality.” Many thanks for the award – which will surely help us in getting the film and its message out to audiences all over the world.

We wish we were there with you this evening – enjoy and congratulations to all involved!
Sincerely,
Stefan Schaefer | Writer, Director"

Selection Process
The goal is to obtain more than 200 films from around the globe and select 12 Semi-Finalists (Official Selection) from them in each category. The 12 Semi-finalists in each category will be chosen to form the main features of the film festival program which will be showcased to audiences as well as receive extensive marketing.

A three-tiered judging process is followed once all submissions have been received following the July, 15 deadline.

  • First Level– Appropriateness of content and copyright infringement as part of the preliminary judging process.
  • Second Level– Entries are divided by category and viewed by internal jury. Top nominations for each category based on the judging criteria will be selected. These films will be classified as “Official Selection”.
  • Final Level— A panel of distinguished international judges will view the above mentioned nominations. The finalists and winners will be selected in each category.

Host nation selection process
Each host nation will have the opportunity to source films unique to its specific culture. The organizers in each nation will be responsible for sourcing these submissions and selecting the top 5 films in each category. These selected films will be viewed by the TSICFF internal jury who will select the winners in each category together with the host nation organizers. These winners will receive a special award certificate and will be showcased in the host nation as part of the festival program.

Judging Criteria
The over-riding purpose of films submitted to this festival is to effectively illustrate stories of transformation by the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ or true life testimonies of both spiritual and physical transformation by God’s power and intervention or Biblical truths leading viewers to a clearer understanding of certain issues and topics.

Awards / Prizes
The festival will give film makers from all over the globe the opportunity to present their films. All official selection and finalist in each category will receive huge marketing on various interactive international and local websites with previews and feedback about the film.

The festival is an annual International Film Festival and aims to create awareness about Christian films along with giving local film makers the opportunity to showcase their work among the world’s best.
